USER GUIDE

THE MOST ADVANCED OXYGEN DELIVERY SYSTEM OF ITS TYPE’
On Everest, it’s the getting back that counts, and if you can get back having been to the top then you are a winner. To win you have to have the best; the best attitude, the best gear and most importantly the best oxygen. TopOut is the difference between winning and simply taking part and will turn pain to pleasure; well it could! TopOut will enable you to enjoy Everest instead of feeling as if every breath is your last.
This new high altitude oxygen delivery system has been designed and developed by me, Ted Atkins while climbing the mountain. I am a serving RAF Aerosystems (aircraft) Engineering Officer. The system was designed and has been built specifically for climbing Everest using aerospace standards that I employ with the RAF. This is the only system built specifically for climbing Everest by an aerosystems engineer who has climbed Everest in the process of testing the prototype. No other system has this pedigree.
IMPORTANT
Exhaled air is heavily laden with moisture. This air has to pass over the exhalation valve and must make it wet. This is not a problem while wearing the mask as your warm breath will keep the valve working. If you remove the mask the valve could freeze onto to its seat. If this happens you will notice a resistance while breathing out. Simply break the face seal of the mask for a few moments to allow exhaled air out and your warm breath will soon free the valve. In the unlikely event of this not working you can remove the front cover (it simply clips off) and physically free the valve with a finger. Should you damage the valve the system will still work. This is an unavoidable problem with all masks of this type. Check that internal valves are not frozen prior to connecting to O2 and use.
You should keep your system in its protective hard case. It is important to note that the ambient air intake on the right of the mask must not be covered with clothing (down suit hood etc).
The canister should be clipped to your clothing or sack. It could be placed in a pocket or inside your suit if preferred but be aware that there are vents in the bottom which must be kept clear for the system to work effectively.
This system has been proven on Everest and functioned perfectly each time. The science of the principle is the intrinsic reliability built on simplicity. No gimmicks, no batteries, low technology; ‘TopOut; it’s the guides choice.
